Boston, MA Mini-Guide

This week I had the pleasure of visiting Boston, MA to host an event and meet my community there that I had no idea existed. Not only did I leave on a serious high after meeting so many incredible women, but I also left with a newfound love for this city. A bit questionable that I’ve never spent ample time there, but you better believe I’ll be going back in the near future. I was only there for two days, and one of the nights was dedicated to my event, so I didn’t get to explore a ton, but I was able to pack in a handful of awesome spots that I want to share with you all. For now, consider this a mini-guide that will be continuously added to with future trips to come!

Lodging: I stayed at the Lenox Hotel and absolutely loved it. It was prime location in Back Bay (near a ton of great spots and extremely close to the Back Bay Amtrak station) and has a great restaurant & bar in the lobby. Plus, free coffee in the mornings and each floor has a filtered water machine to fill up at!

Restaurants:

  • Kava Neo Taverna: the number one recommended restaurant from you all and one I want to go back to ASAP. Small, cute spot in South End with delicious Greek food. I got the oktapodi (grilled octopus with lemon & oregano) and the horiatiki salad (peppers, cucumber, tomato, olives, capers, feta and oregano)

  • Saltie Girl: this tiny spot has one of the best seafood focused menus I’ve ever laid eyes on. I seriously could’ve ordered the everything on there. Sadly, I was by myself for lunch so my order was quite limited, but I highly recommend checking this place out! Walk-ins only and it’s not only tiny but also popular, so prepare for a wait time. I ordered the Bibb lettuce salad with shaved vegetables & added lobster meat, the house chips, and the scallop crudo with avocado, jalapeño, lime & caviar - one of the best dishes I’ve ever had!!

  • Life Alive Organic Cafe: this menu is just about everything I could ever imagine, but the food fell a bit short for me. I ordered the curry cauliflower bowl and was a bit underwhelmed, but I’d give it another try when I’m back next time

  • Honeygrow: okay, i didn’t technically go here, but they catered my event and the food was delicious

  • Jugos: a super tiny juice & smoothie shop with delicious options. So good, I went both days! I got the kalik (banana, date, peanut, cashew milk) + spinach and then the Sao Paolo bowl (açaí, cashew, cacao, banana, cashew milk topped with coconut, granola, banana, cacao) + almond butter

Fomu

Ice Cream

  • Fomu: this DF ice cream was something else, holy shit. I’m in love! I got the GF cone with chocolate pudding & red raspberry oat crumble

  • JP Licks: classic ice cream spot with many different locations. I enjoyed mine but wasn’t blown away, to be honest. I got the peach & DF vanilla coconut

Workouts / Other:

  • Corepower Yoga: same as studios in other cities, heated hot yoga

  • Btone Fitness: I went to the TONE pilates class that was on a megareformer, but wasn’t necessarily Lagree method. It was a good workout, but nothing crazy intense. I personally wish they had focused a bit more on breathwork

  • Follain: my favorite non-toxic clean beauty store that has two locations in Boston and where I hosted my event. An absolute must visit! Use code FRECKLEDFOODIE for 10% off and check out some of my favorite products here.
